Firstly, don’t do what I did when I drew all those backgrounds for school, which was draw all the perspective grids by hand. Save yourself a lot of trouble and download the best CSP asset I’ve ever seen: The Only Perspective Grid You Need! I’ve used it a ton since then and it makes things so much easier.

Secondly, I’ll pass on the advice which was given to me when I drew these, which is “make the space look lived in, mess it up, add more details.” The nicks in furniture and stray objects where they don’t belong give a space character, and if you make a background super clean cut, do it with intention so that it also tells you something about who goes there or what goes on in it.

As always, I’m not a professional so take what I say with a grain of salt- good luck with your backgrounds!
